I’m putting out my shingle, as it were.

I am a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association and am looking to get a client or two in addition to my full-time job as a digital content producer.

My editing specialty currently is line and copy editing of shorter material like short stories, flash fiction and blogs, but I am working on learning more about fiction developmental editing.

This decision comes after much wandering in the desert and false starts in other endeavors. I may end up finishing the html/CSS course I started, but in my heart, after hours and hours of puttering, I know that’s not what I’m passionate about.

It’s time to go back to my roots. I’ve been editing in a professional capacity since 1998, back when I was a small town newspaper editor fresh out of college. I soon made my way to the copy desk of a daily newspaper. Since then I’ve written a lot but edited much more, professionally and as part of a writing group that has produced fiction, academic non-fiction and poetry.

Over my many years in newspaper, public relations and digital content, I have made my red marks on a variety of content, from Annual Reports to Congress to breaking news stories for websites.

I am ready to help authors shine. Need my professional expertise? Get in touch!
