Rainy day in the land of no poems

I’ve been working on job search-related texts, essays and learning all I can about SEO. I’m applying for various jobs, some of them I’m not really excited about. I’m also investigating whether a switch to being a SEO pro would be a way for me to make it in this age-discriminatory world.

There are so many details floating around in the aquarium of my brain, the tank is full of furious fish.

In all this, poetry is getting short shrift. And I guess that’s OK. To everything, there is a season. I haven’t yet forgotten how to write a poem, though I wonder if my best poetry days are behind me. I’ve written one poem since early November, and it seems to be a croaker that I might cast back into oblivion.

The rain is falling softly, and the clouds, low and soft gray, give me no reason to go out today. It’s a time to absorb and replenish. It’s a time of creative fallowness, at least in this area.

Despite all the job-related searching, I’m staying off LinkedIn as much as possible because all the stories of woe, possibly aided by AI, dent my mental health.

I will try to keep my blog more tailored to poetry and essay matters to help build my brand and aid my SEO. I haven’t the bandwidth for more, to be honest.

It has been a hell of a year, so perhaps I’m just tired from all that. Bring the rain.
